The DTO has initiated action on the complaint filed by Muhammad Kamaluddin of Systems Travels (Pvt) Ltd on October 6.
The complainant in his detailed letter had pointed out that he was one of the candidates for the post of Chairman and his nomination paper was duly submitted and received by the TAAP secretariat well in time. But, contrary to previous practice and in most unprecedented manner, the "secretariat issued a circular inviting besides the retiring and newly elected executive committee members, 10 such other general body members who had nothing to do with the election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman".
After explaining in greater detail the circumstances, under which the election results were announced, Muhammad Kamaluddin has prayed that:
-- The announcement of the name of M Nadeem Sharif as TAAP Chairman may be held illegal and declared as having been withdrawn.
-- TAAP secretariat may be instructed to issue a revised press release deleting the name of M Nadeem Sharif as Chairman.
-- That until the case is decided Nadeem Sharif and TAAP secretariat may be contained from projecting the former as Chairman, TAAP.
-- Nadeem Sharif be restrained from exercising the powers of TAAP Chairman, presiding over TAAP meetings and operating TAAP accounts singly or as a joint signatory belonging to the centre or regions including bonding or umrah committee accounts, etc.
-- Since the name of the Chairman was announced illegally, the Vice-Chairman, TAAP or the Regional Chairman, zone 'A' may be authorised to perform the duties of the Chairman in addition to his own duties till such time the case is decided by the DTO.
